I’ve been thinking this morning about Edie Sedgwick. This idea of “Poor little rich girl” It seems she really was the first self- destructive, vulnerable socialite/celebrity. I would compare her to Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton. I read an article about her that came out around the anniversary of her death. It said; “Our culture loves to glorify young women — particularly the blonde, the beautiful, and the wide-eyed — and then watch them tumble under the weight of our gaze.”
